Chapter 7:

Scarlette woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. Gabriel was already gone, but a note on the nightstand caught her eye. "Morning sunshine, went out to grab some breakfast. Be back soon. Love you, G."

Scarlette smiled and took a deep breath, feeling grateful for their peaceful life in the cabin. She got ready for the day and went outside, enjoying the fresh air and the sound of nature. As she was picking some wildflowers, she heard rustling in the bushes behind her. She turned around, expecting to see Gabriel, but instead found herself face to face with a figure she didn't recognize.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Scarlette demanded, backing away.

The figure stepped out of the shadows, revealing themselves to be a woman with long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.

"I'm Isabella, Gabriel's ex," she said, a hint of bitterness in her voice. "I see he's moved on to another mortal. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."
