Awkward silence

The tension in the dining room was thick enough to be cut with a knife easily.

Everyone could sense it.

It was the first time I was having dinner in the dining room with everyone else. Alpha Orion was sitting at the chair which clearly belonged to him at the corner, on the other end, Luca was sitting. They both seemed to be busy in their glaring battle.

Bernadette had asked me to have my meals here but I always refused knowing well it was not my place.

I was sitting on the left side of Alpha Orion while on his right Bernadette was sitting, who kept passing me comfortable smiles in between.

Next to me was Chelsea.

No one was saying a word as the dinner was being served. Everyone could sense the weirdness in the air.

I wanted to ask Luca so many questions but I could not do that in front of everyone.

"How have you been, Ruhee?" Luca initiated the conversation by breaking the awkward silence which I did not know was a good idea as all the eyes were now on me, waiting for the answer.
