What was I thinking?

"What was that earlier?"

I knew the question was coming.

I put on my best convincing smile, "I told you, I do not like new places. I have always lived in one place and this is all new for me."

He kept looking at me with the same blank look, he was trying to see through my lies. he was trying to figure out what was really happening...but he could never find out the truth.

"You were trying to touch the wall."

"I was just curious," I replied in a calm tone challenging the irritated tone of Alpha Orion.

His eyebrows twitched slightly but luckily he did not ask any more questions.

It was then I got the chance to finally look around, the room was dark. Even though a bulb was shining it could not provide enough light to brighten the small room.

The smell was still present in the air and because of the nightmare, I was no longer thinking if it was just the rotting food. There was a scary silence in the room and the only sound that could be heard was of water droplets hitting the floor. It was
