The men took us into the deep swamp leaving Landry's boat at our dock and using our more nimble skiff to navigate the deep swamp’s terrain I strained, reaching my magic out farther, into land that wasn't ours. I was more limited here. It felt foreign but I could sense them.

When my moonlight began to materialize as darkness fell, our neighbors became silent. I sent the light ahead letting it split off into smaller orbs dimming them, and pulling that light within myself as we came closer. I raised a hand, putting my other to my lips. Wyatt cut the engine and the men grabbed the polls. I pulled in more light. I drew my finger across my neck, as a sign to stop.

"There's three sets of boats scattered,” I pointed west, north, and east. I dimmed the light to that of fireflies splitting them up more. “You two, one go east and the other north, follow the light.”

“What about the west?”

“The boys are northeast of here,” I pointed. He swore quietly under his breath.

This does not bode well for their invaders. They picked the wrong bit of swamp to trespass on, that's for sure!!! And was Landry's Beast about to attack his wife and their baby?!? I know it attacked Mela before, but could it be that Landry is cursed as well?
