After Nicholas left, I went back to doing some paperwork.

It wasn't until hours later that Avelina's sweet voice interrupted my thoughts. "Are you busy?" I looked up and my eyes found hers.

She was leaning against the doorway, looking absolutely breathtaking. She was dressed in a short, white dress, and her hair was pulled back in a ponytail.

She always managed to take my breath away, even when she wasn't trying. I immediately composed myself and cleared my throat.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, surprised to see her at the company.

She batted her eyelashes and said, "Is it a crime to come see my own husband at work? I brought you lunch." She held up a plastic bag.

I was hungry, but the fact that she showed up was enough to satisfy me. "Come," I said, and motioned for her to come inside. "Lock the door."

She raised an eyebrow at me. "What are you planning, sir?"

I grinned and stood up from my chair. I walked towards her, and stopped when I was right in front of her.
