Copper, named after her grandmother, was told to her face that she was the black sheep of her family. She got into fights, hang out with the bad crowd, and had the biggest crush on a teacher. However just when her parents couldn't take it anymore, a driver appeared outside of her school and informed her that her grandfather, the richest man in their city, and a man she'd done her best to forget about, wants to reunite. Kenny Greenland refused every woman his parents brought to marry him. Fed up with his folks, he made a deal. He would only marry the grandchild of his master, knowing full well that his master didn't have grandchildren. However, to his surprise the most dashing young lady he has ever seen claims to be his master's grandchild. She whispered, "Keep your promise, darling." From family conflicts, to poisonous rivals, outside forces were happy to stop the union of two powerful families, but they don't know who they're messing with. Whoever tried would live to regret it.

Chaper 1. A Wife?!
KennyHe slammed his drink on the table. "The only woman I'm interested in is whoever my master chooses for me! Whether it be his sister, aunt, or even his grandmother! But it has to be a relative."Everyone around the table laughed, annoying him even more than he was annoyed before. "Kenny, don't be silly. How could you, at 21, marry an old woman?" His mother snickered, waving him off. In the room's bright lighting her emerald earrings sparkled. "All of Master Harmony's remaining relatives are well above your age. Pick one of the beautiful women we've chosen for you. They all have suitable backgrounds and immaculate manners. Just give them a chance, you won't be disappointed."Kenny pinched his nose. Why did he even bother with these people when he knew they'd just be saying the same thing over and over again? "It would be easier to find you someone if you just told us what type of girl you like," Mr. Greenland added in. His current wife clung to his arm, glaring at Kenny's birth mo

Chapter 2. Copper Harmony
CopperThere was no way they'd let me go free. I flipped my hair over my shoulder and folded my arms. The girl beside me wouldn't stop crying. She bawled so loudly with her face in her palms that if we weren't alone, I'm sure we would be the spectacle of anyone who passed by. All this over a slap to the face. I rolled my eyes. The blue office door opened and we both looked up. The first person to step through was our principal, Mr. Hardley. As he turned to us he fixed his gaze on me, face riddled with disgust. I looked him in his stone cold blue eyes, making sure he knew the feeling was more than reciprocated. My parents trailed behind him, heads lowered."You two, I spoke with both of your parents," Principal Hardley said. "Betty."Betty sat up and wiped her eyes, her light brown swept her shoulders each time she moved."I called your parents. They said they would be back by Friday, at the latest. And as for you," he pointed at me. "I don't want to see you until then.""What?!" I sat

Chapter 3. Not My Grandfather
Copper I could tell Dad was still as confused as ever. Mom and the man have barely said a word to each other, yet he was smiling as if he said it all. "Grace," he started, "It's been a long time since we've last talked to each other like this, face to face." "Mom, I'm hungry," I interjected before she could respond. "We should go home soon before it gets late." I said partly looking at him, but kept my demeanor calm and oblivious. Until he turned to stare at me, then I couldn't help but frown. To my dismay, he started smiling and coming over to where I was. I took a step back. "My, is that Copper? You've grown so much I couldn't tell." Dad placed his arm over my shoulders. He eyed the old man up and down. "Sweetie, who is this?" My mother rested her hands on her hips and sighed. Some students passed by, too lost in their conversation to find anything wrong. "Daniel, this is Mister Harmony, Johnathon's father. And Copper's-" "An unknown stranger that left us to suffer," I inte

Chapter 4. Time To Scam My Future Husband
Copper"His wife?!" My mouth hung open in shock. "That's the last thing I said, yes," Mr. Harmony stated patiently. "Only for a little while, it's not permanent." Of course I heard everything else he said, about how he wanted to bring me back into the family, and not because of this other rich guy he wants me to marry. The idea of being an heiress represented something I always dreamed about, but was also terrified of at the same time. Being a wealthy daughter would have helped my parents a lot, I'm not blind to that. All the things I could do with that money, all the ways I could make sure the people whom always stood by my side live in luxury for the rest of their days. But there was also the issue where I don't know this man, nor whether what he said was true. For all I know, the Harmony enterprise could be bankrupt and they're trying to use me as the scrap goat. Not cool! I don't like that at all, and I would hate myself for being stupid enough to fall for his tricks. Howev

Chapter 5. I'm Moving In
Copper Mr. Harmony drove us the rest of the way home, and boy oh boy have I never seen my neighbours' jaws drop that low. I tried to take out the groceries, but my bags were taken by his guards. They brought all of them into the house faster than I ever could. I didn't mind. I simply shrugged and headed inside, along with my parents. We didn't have a lot, but what we had was enough to keep us comfortable. The living room and kitchen were one with a small dining table smack in the middle. The foyer was only wide enough to occupy a carpet and a shoe rack. However, although small, we did our best to keep it clean. I was hit with the calming scent of wildflowers, something that was always a pleasure after coming home from an awful day spent outside. Thankfully, he didn't make any comments about the size of my home. Instead, he told Mom and Dad that he was grateful for their approval. "Well, I didn't exactly say I approved it," Daniel stated. "But I do want my girl to have a better l

Chapter 6. We Need To Raise Your Worth
Copper I now regret nothing. The light from the chandelier reflected off the black floor. Jasmine white walls surrounded us and made up most of the interior. The windows closest to the door extended to the ceiling. To the left, there was a staircase with a banister made up of a dark type of wood. Sylvester walked beside me, allowing me to take it all in with a smile. "Aran will bring your bags up and show you your room." Sylvester motioned to the butler who bowed his head. "When you're done changing into something more comfortable, please feel free to join us for dinner." I turned to him. "Is this all yours or do you like, rent out the place to tenants?" I asked. He waved a finger instead of shaking his head. "Never. No one without Harmony blood has been allowed to stay on the property. Ever. There is a guesthouse not far from here that's still on our land, but not considered a part of the estate." I nodded. "Go on. Dinner will be ready soon." "Okay." The butler, or Aran, bega

Chapter 7. Confronting The Principal
Copper Sylvester traveled out of the house. I followed behind, trying not too pay too much attention to the makeshift wind lifting the hem of my skirt. The backyard greeted us with its tranquil beauty. Scattered acorn trees protected the spider lilies from the sun, not that they needed much protection now that the sun was setting. A dragonfly hovered over a water fountain. The faded sunlight reflected off a stone bench with butterflies curved into its legs. Mr. Harmony walked on a cobblestone path that led him to a large pond at the end of it. Lily pads covered one fourth of the surface. I watched as he went down on one knee and disturbed the water, which also ended up frightening the carps swimming beneath it. I listened out for his bones to creek. They didn't, but they could've. Sylvester played with his reflection as he spoke. "You know, when your father was young, he hated water." I raised my eyebrow, but didn't say anything as he continued. "My wife and I are divorced, but

Chapter 8. A Good Student
CopperBefore I could say a word, Mr. Harmony stepped forward. He extended his hand. "Please, there's no need for that. Mr. Hardley, I assume? I am Copper's grandfather. Her mother would like to apologize for not being here as she was requested to work together.""Uh huh." Mr. Hardley gave his hand a stiff shake. "What about her step-father?"Betty snorted. When I glared in her direction, she turned away."An emergency occurred at his workplace. He sends his greetings." Mr. Harmony smiled. However, his smile didn't seem to melt Mr. Hardley's icy heart."I would prefer more than his greetings, but let's carry on."Sylvester released his hand and sat down at the opposite end of the room to Betty's parents. His guard stayed at the door with me to his right. Mr. Hardley barely acknowledged his presence. Or maybe it was that he didn't care.I shouldn't be surprised. He had yet to ask for my grandfather's name."Sir," the principal started, clasped hands placed over his desk. "Are you aware

Chapter 9. Expulsion
Copper "I'm sorry," Mrs. Lionheart rested her hand on her hip. "Is there something we're missing? Mr. Hardley, get rid of that child now or we will remove our funding from this school." "Woman," Mr. Hardley exclaimed. "Do you not know who this is?!" Mrs. Lionheart took a step back as if Hardley used his voice to slap her. "I beg your pardon?" Sylvester placed one leg over the other. "Both of you own the Falcon Constructions company, with seven branches all over the nation. You tried to get our attention in order to work on a collab for one of our new buildings." Mr. and Mrs. Lionheart's mouths dropped. I smirked. Frustrated, or maybe just wanting to save his image in Sylvester's eyes, Mr. Hardley spelt it out for them. "This is Mr. Sylvester Harmony, owner and executive director of Harmony Enterprises! He is one of THE most sort after businessman on this continent and the only one who accepts apprentices." Yeah, that's right. Quake in his wake, ya' basic bitches. "I-is that so?"

Chapter 10. Nice To Meet You, Kenny Greenland
Copper Stepping out the school doors felt like tasting freedom for the first time. “Are you really transferring me to that fancy school?” I asked. Sylvester smiled. “I don’t see any reason why I would lie.” Then it’s decided. I’ll be leaving here for the last time. I couldn’t help but smile. It was so crazy, yet, I knew I wanted to let go of this place. So many lovely memories. Both good and bad. But not enough to make me want to stay. We walked down the steps. No one was outside except for the gardening trimming the hedges near the gates. Maybe after today, I could finally take school seriously enough to graduate, go to college, make my parents happy. It was pretty late to start applying but never say never. I might just make it. “Are the folks there as insane as this school?” He stopped. His hand went up to my ponytail and lifted it in the air. The blonde strands fell from his grip hair by hair. “Certainly. However, we have to do something about this hair.” I raised my eyebrow
