A monster

The man stood before me, his gaze piercing as he regarded me with an inscrutable expression. Despite the look on his face, I remained steadfast, unmoved by the shock I could sense in his eyes. Quickly, I turned my attention to Jasper, who lay on the floor, offering him a helping hand.

"Are you okay?" I inquired,as I assisted Jasper to his feet.

"I'm alright," Jasper reassured me, and I could see the surprise look on his face from the unexpected altercation.

the man suddenly closed the distance between us, his eyes bore into me with an unsettling look. "Are you playing games with me, Selena?" he demanded.

Taken aback by his familiarity with my name, a name I hadn't shared with him, I felt anger rise within me. "I don't care how you know my name or why you're addressing me so casually, but one thing is clear: I want nothing to do with someone like you," I shot back, as I stood my ground.

"Someone like me?" he questioned, a surprise look on his face.

"Yes, someone like you, a monster!" I
