"Wake up." Clayton's voice jolted me awake and I looked around to see him standing by the bed. I blinked in bewilderment. It was dark and a bit hard to see.
"What?" I asked in confusion and the look on his face made me grow concerned. Suddenly an irony tangy odor hit my nostrils and I tensed. Blood. I hurriedly flipped on the lights and gasped as I looked at my mate. Red crimson stained his chest and spattered his face.
"What happened?" I managed to get out and he looked at me with wide eyes. I scanned his body and didn't find any wounds, which was a bit surprising with all that blood there should've been a horrific wound.
"Some rouge found us... It caught me by surprise... It attacked me... I killed it but not before it... Katlyn I died." He said softly and sunk to his knees staring at me with an astonished expression that held horror and turmoil.
I'll update again soon!
Hope you enjoyed!
And without further ado here is the next chapter!...
"What do you mean?" I said crouching beside my mate. He let out a shaky breath and looked into my eyes.
"I died. I was dead. I saw the Moon Goddess Kate..." He said and latched on to me like a lifeline. Protectiveness rushed over me and I hugged him to me.
"How? What?" I gasped and he hugged me tightly.
"She told me that we... That we couldn't die. She said we were immortals. Kate something's coming. Something big. That's why there's two pure whites. The Moon Goddess needs help..." Clayton said softly and I laid my head on his chest as I tried to calm down.
"I could've lost you." I whispered feeling tears well up in my eyes. I let them fall and I let out a shaky breath, "I could've lost you... Why didn't I feel anything?" I gasped and Clayton sighed.
"I didn't want to upset you so I stopped the pain from spreading to you. You're special. All four of you. I'm sorry for the scare." A soft voice said and me and Clayton froze.
We looked around and tensed when we saw a glowing woman in white by the window. She smiled at us and I suddenly felt calm. Clayton bowed his head and didn't meet her gaze as he grumbled, "Moon Goddess..."
I on the other hand looked at the woman in astonishment. Before me stood a god, who wouldn't be curious and look?
The woman chuckled, "Clayton you can look at me. Treat me as a friend for you are nearly my equal." The woman said and I watched as Clayton looked up hesitantly and smiled shyly. We were still wrapped up in each other and we slowly let go.
"Nearly your equal?" I inquired curiously. The Moon Goddess smiled softly.
"Yes Katlyn. You have powers like mine. You're immortal. You're made in my image. Bearing the white fur mark of myself is an honor as you know. You're special. As is your mate, as well as Eli and Nathaniel. A war is coming and you need to be ready. Join the packs. You'll have to work together in this or I'm afraid you'll fail. And if you fail all will be lost." Moon Goddess said and I looked at Clayton in shock.
"Join the packs? Some of the packs have centuries long conflicts against one another... Joining them will be impossible." Clayton scoffed and shook his head.
"What war? Who are we fighting?" I asked in confusion. The Moon Goddess gave me a long look.
"You've been found." She said softly with a slight frown.
"By who?" Clayton growled.
"By mankind." The Moon Goddess said softly with sorrow.
"What? How?" Clayton said standing up.
"You know what happens when a werewolf dies. If human we transfer back into are wolf forms, if in wolf already we stay that way. Truth in death. There was an accident and a family died. All but a young teenaged boy. You can imagine the confusion and suspicion when the human ambulance arrived only to find some dead wolves and a live boy in the wreckage of a car. Especially when that child is crying for his lost loved ones. He was questioned, tormented, taken away to higher powers, interrogated, tortured... Then he turned. And then they killed him. They got a lot of information. They know of the packs and such. They know how to hurt and kill us. You must fight." The Moon Goddess said and her wolf gleamed in her eyes. I was in shock.
"Who are we fighting here?" I asked.
"The government. The militia, military... They see us as a threat. An impure abomination." I shook at her words.
"But how will we fight? It's not like the government has an alpha we can speak to and declare war." Clayton growled and I paused.
"Yes it does," I sighed and swallowed. "The president..." All eyes were on me and I growled in indignation.
"Maybe we could reason?" I said aloud but even I knew it was a no go. People no matter how nice they may seem can't deal with other beings. They want to be unique and special to themselves.
"I can't believe we have to fight humans. First they wipe out vamps now they're after us." Clayton growled pacing around the room.
"So what do we do? Write a letter? Email? Go to the capital?" Clayton asked me and I shrugged.
"We can't make a scene whatever we do. I doubt the public knows of our existence. They'd keep it in wraps." I said softly and Clayton growled.
"I have to go... I have faith it you. Have faith in yourselves as well." The Moon Goddess said and then disappeared.
"Shit what do we do?" Clayton huffed and I crossed my arms as I thought.
Okay we needed to confront the president and fight for our right to exist. No pressure huh?
"C'mon." I growled and Clayton paused as I stood and threw on a jacket over my nightclothes. He did the same and followed me out of the house.
"We've got to go to the capital. Now." I said and in moments we were in the car.
"I'm assuming you've got a plan?" My mate said looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Not at all." I said truly and reached over and turned on the engine.
Clayton scoffed and turned the car back off, "We can't just go in there unprepared. What if they try to arrest us or something?" He said looking at me with concerned eyes.
"It's okay. They won't." I said and he frowned.
"You don't know that." Clayton growled and I leaned over and pecked my lips against his.
"We'll protect each other. They won't touch us." I sighed and Clayton nodded softly before starting the car again. I pulled out my phone and texted my parents saying we'd be back later.
"I'll link Drew and tell him." I said softly and Clayton nodded and added, "Hey can you link Eli as well? She's part of this also and Nathaniel." I nodded and focused on the three of them.
Guys? I asked after I felt as though I could feel their presence.Yes Luna Kate? I smiled at Drew's voice.Yeah? Came Eli's hesitant reply.Who's this? I almost snickered at Nathaniel's confused voice. It's Katlyn. Now all of you listen. A war is coming and Clayton and I are on our way to the Capitol. Watch everyone we'll explain more when we return. Their confused responses came and I shut off the link.Clayton was speeding through traffic and I was surprised an officer hadn't tried to pull us over. It was going to be a long ride."I can't believe they killed that boy." I sighed and Clayton growled. Anger surged through me and I fought to control it. That could've been a pack member, could've been me or Clayton. They just disposed of him like garbage after they got what they needed."It's what humans do. They kill what they see fit." Clayton said darkly and I sighed."I was human Clayton." I pointed out and he looked at me with a soft gaze."I know baby but you were different." He sa
There was a pause and then a sound of, "Come in," was heard. The men went inside and we followed. The Oval Office was a nice looking place but we weren't here to sightsee. I looked over at President Ace Larkin and grimaced. He was a sturdy man in his late forties. His gray brown hair was snipped nicely and his ebony eyes watched us as we filed in and the door was shut."Hello? What's this about?" President Larkin said shooting a humble smile. I tried my best not to sneer. Though Clayton was shooting daggers with his looks."There was a boy found recently... Mind to enlighten us as to what happened to him?" I asked taking a seat by the presidential desk. Immediately President Larkin's body tensed."I'm not sure what you mean..." He began and I scoffed."He was young. You found him in the wreckage of a car crash. I've heard that you got rid of him. I came to know if it's true." I said and I could hear his heartbeat pick up. I had my answer."Oh so it is true. Well I'd like to see video
"Mine." Clayton growled possessively looking around at the trees and woods as if they'd come alive and take me.I giggled and laid my head on his chest, "Yours... Mine." I sighed and hugged him tightly. We stood there for a while before we pulled slowly apart and walked to the car. We hopped inside and started toward our home.We arrived and got out of the car. Drew raced out of the house to meet us and he paused and smirked when he took us in."Aww look at you two, all marked and mated." Drew said in a teasing voice and Clayton growled while I blushed."We've got to talk to everyone... Can someone get in contact with Alpha Nathan and Luna Eli? This is important." Clayton said and Drew nodded."C'mon then." Drew said whirling around and going inside and Clayton and I followed. It wasn't long before we'd made it inside and pack members looked at us with knowing eyes smelling the mix of our scents from our mating."So what happened? Because y'all weren't supposed to be back until three
He didn't stop though so I went for plan B. I brought my leg up hard and nailed him right in the place where no man should be hit. He doubled over and I hit him so good he actually threw up. Ooh two points for Alex!"That's what you get, bitch." I spat at him with a triumphant fist pump. Okay maybe not the adult thing to do but honestly nothing adult like was going on here anyway. I hopped away from the slimy, foul smelling, chunky fluid and made a dash for the door."Alexis! Alexis come back here you-" the man howled after me. I still didn't have my shirt but I didn't care. I whirled around and looked at his crumpled figure holding his hurt manhood."My name's Alex you pervert." I snarled at him then straightening my bra I sped out of the room. I was like lightning! It was night ,the time I'm not sure, I'd been in there for a while. Maybe a day?I ran out of the house and to a black truck knowing my stuff was mostly still in there. I tried the handle but it was locked. For a second I
"Mama? Daddy?" Is all I could say as I fought the urge to cheer. They'd come to see me! I giggled. My father and mother looked at each other and my mother managed to put on a bright-now I know fake- smile."Sweetie come here." My mother cooed opening her arms. Yay! My mommy loves me! I'd almost tackled her as I ran into her embrace. She grunted as I hugged her tight and after a bit I felt another set of arms wrap around us both. Daddy. I grinned from ear to ear.I was so... Just being so damn naive I should've- I should've known..."Come on darling... We have someone we'd like you to meet." My mother whispered to me and my father pulled away suddenly. When I looked at him he had his back to me and my mother."Kale, honey, come on we've talked about this." My mother said. I looked up at her. What did they talk about? My father huffed and turned back to us a blank expression on his face. He grabbed my shoulder and we walked all the way to the front door. It was oddly quiet inside but c
That's been my pathetic little life for years. Ha, you can say it's been one hell of a ride.I slowed down to a trot as I realized I'd ran into another packs territory. My body was on high alert as I took in the smell of this pack. They smelled like pine wood and musk. I wrinkled my snout as I took in their pungent aroma.Turn back into a human now. Lark said and I shifted quickly. I took off my pack which had been on my back the whole time and pulled out a shirt and shorts. I slipped them on.My legs were a bit sore as I walked onward. I stopped dead in my tracks when I felt eyes on me. I tensed and tried to shake the felling off of me but I couldn't and I felt my skin crawl. I looked around for a few moments and heard a growl. How's it going?Poor Alex...31Oh just great. I turned and looked around as I heard the snapping of twigs. I took a deep breath and stared out into the darkness."Who are you?" A growl rose up and I snarled back. I could understand them as a human."The name'
"Oh you're in for it." He growled. Okay I'll admit it I thought he was talking about it so I naturally went into a defensive posture and growled darkly. My heart beat strongly and I stared at him. At his hands making sure they didn't come near me. So many males had said those words to me... I admittedly lost control for a second."No male will ever touch me again! Back away now! Back away! If you touch me I'll rip your fucking arm off and shove it down your throat!" I screeched backing away from him. I looked around wildly and seeing a gap in the people around me I darted between them and sprinted back the way we'd came. Guess it was time to choose flight.I couldn't shift and I was tired and soon someone caught up to me and grabbed my arm. I whirled around and pushed at the person with all my strength but another person grabbed my other arm. I tried struggling but soon gave up. The bastards had me.A growl ripped from my lips as they started shuffling me back to the house and for the
The alpha growled and pulled me off the wall. Suddenly my back is pressed against something soft and welcoming and I realize I'm laying on a bed. The alpha gripped my waist and growled in possessiveness."Alpha-" I started. My hands pressed at his chest."It's Xavier." The alpha groaned as he kissed my neck. I felt a smile coming to my lips and I forced it away."Xavier please stop." I sighed. He groaned and sat up crossing his arms over his chest and frowning at me."Why are you being so hostile? I'm your mate." Xavier growled and I looked away from him."Is it because I didn't stop them? Do you hate me because of that? Because it wasn't my fault! I could do nothing! I tried to stop them I did but they took you... They took you from me!" He exploded at me with anger. I blinked at him and suddenly it came rushing back to me. I knew this alpha."You- you were there! You're the youngest alpha!" I yelled and bolted upright. Shame showed on Xavier's face as he looked at me. I stood up and
