strange dance

They were okay. The whole pack was okay. They then moved amongst the pack, looking at the casualties and thankfully, they weren’t as many as she had expected. Looking back, she couldn’t recall what had happened to the healer, but the Victorians had retreated. This time round, they had paid quite a huge price for the sake of expanding and yet they lost.

The injured were collected and moved towards one center of their pack territory. It was at that time that she realized that the pack’s territory had been under heavy guard. They had machineries that protected the place even though they looked old-school. It seemed like even though it was in the twenty first century, the werewolves still preferred the fighting much more physically than using modern technology such as guns and grenades.

The rush of adrenaline and the physical fights were much more exciting, besides, in as much they fought, they did not aim at exterminating their races. They were already few as they were. From there, they moved to their room, where they had a relaxing bath, washing away all the dirt. The water from the showers dripped down in various shades, most of it being red. There had been a lot of blood shedding today, and in her heart, she did not like it.

The constant pressure applied by the water gushing in form of jets from the shower head helped massage her body. As the water kept falling, she could feel her adrenaline receding, and then exhaustion seeping in. by the time she was coming from the shower, she was well on her way to sleep. On the other hand, Ryan also moved to the bathroom to have a bath. Before going to the bathroom, he’d been quite silent, something that perplexed her but nevertheless she went on with her routine.

Taking her facial products, she moisturized her face before slipping on her nightdress. Tonight, was supposed to be her wedding night, but much of it was already gone. She had anticipated making love with Ryan but it seemed that fate spelt otherwise for them. She was already too tired to want any kind of action towards the same. She moved to the bed and slipping inside the covers she sat, resting on the pillow as she awaited her husband.

Ryan stepped out of the bathroom, while drying his hair, a towel wrapped around his lower torso. He had some scratches on his face, but otherwise he looked okay. His chest, looked sumptuous, Leila thought as her eyes involuntarily started closing. Sleep was beckoning to her, the last thought before totally sleeping being ‘my husband is really handsome. Faint snores quickly filled the room, as Ryan turned his face towards her. she looked so fragile lying on their bed, compared to the fighter he’d seen, he still could not wrap his head around it.

Her fighting prowess by herself was equivalent to five hundred of them. And then what had happened when she had gone to stop the arrows that were raining down towards them. He could remember seeing them coming towards her, her head held high facing the arrows. It looked like snow was about to start falling, but the beauty of the picture could not discredit the hidden danger rushing towards her.

Then she had acted. It felt surreal, watching her, it was like watching a picture out of a movie from the moon goddess, standing tall, courageously facing the oncoming danger. She was unshakable and as she stood there, unmovable. Anyone that looked at her felt like they were seeing an angel, with all power upon Her life. The arrows turned into dust. What had happened.? His worry had turned into astonishment, and then unbridled pride at having her as his mate.
