the mysterious man

The biggest limiting thing for the current her now was that she could not understand the thoughts of the other members of her pack. Looking around her, she felt her heart thump, as that ominous feeling in her heart kept increasing. It felt as though something terrible would happen to her though she had no idea what.

Her mind working clearly in a bid to make clear calculations towards the probability of her killing the healer, she underwent a berserk moment. Where all her thoughts were pulled towards one place. she had sensed a strong killing intent coming from that man that had silently appeared on the other side, at the same time, there was a familiarity that arose from her deepest parts.

She could not afford to be sidelined at this moment, and therefore she made a decision that seemed unwise. She would attack everyone there. If she did eventually get to the healer well and good. But one thing she was sure of was that any chance she got, she should kill that man.

He arose terror from within, causing her mind to tense. With everyone within her eyesight, she made her calculations right in her mind before deciding where to break off the encirclement. How she had come to be encircled she did not know, but they were advancing, their teeth glistening in the soft glows of the sun. saliva streaming down to one side of their lips, painting a somber environment. Yet even this sight did not move her heart because she knew she could deal with them at any point, what made her weary was that familiar, unfamiliar man. What was his purpose here?

Her eyes turning into slits, her pupils elongated, she subconsciously used her hind legs to scratch the ground, sending plumes of dust and leaves into the air. In that split second, she leapt of the ground, moving with unimagined speeds towards the other wolfs. In this aspect, no one could compare with her. very soon, the loud howling of the wolfs filled the place, as they began to make unorganized retreat. Of those who had encircled her, half of them were dead, with very fine lines marking their necks from which blood first came out in a line, and then as reality of what had happened set in, the velocity of the blood increased.

It looked like fountains were spraying the ground, the warmth from this blood permeating the environment. Even at this point, Leila could still not shake that tense mood she had, her fur raised in tell-tale signs of danger approaching. It was at that time, that as the place cleared and the last of the werewolves fell, that she noticed the arrival of fast swishing lines from the sky. With her eyesight, she knew what they were, and even though this made her feel weary, it was not to the point of being desperate. Somehow, within her mind she knew she could overcome this.

They were arrows sent with crossbolts that whistled their way into the forest, as she watched them come, she then decided to make the final attempt of fighting, she wanted to get done with the other wolves that were remaining that still posed a danger to her. this time round, she did not need to have her eyes open, she closed them and then moved according to instincts. The aftermath was clearly visible, red staining the earth once more.

It was at that time, that her ears twitched, as well as her nose, as she instinctively felt the scent of husband, rushing through the woods to this place. he was not alone, they were moving swiftly, making the least amount of noise as they moved towards her. they must have seen the arrows towards them, or maybe they had already defeated the Victorians.

Seeing them coming so bravely to face the Victorians was a sight that was meant to be recorded in the histories of werewolves. It was as though the rain of arrows threatening to encompass the whole of the area was nothing. It was as though they had already experienced this kind of war long before. It seemed as though time had come to a standstill, yet the arrows moved even faster. At that moment almost instinctually, she moved in steps, she did not even know where they had originated.

The place became silent, the only noise coming from her exhaling as her tempo increased, her head lifting towards the site of arrows. At that moment after what had looked like a dance, she had howled. She did not know how it had happened but thousands of those arrows in the air disintegrated into fine splints, which further disintegrated to form dust. All the arrows had been destroyed. There was silence, everyone holding their breath.

Maybe the whole plan of the Victorians had finally come to naught. It was in those final moments, when everything had been at a climax, that that man disappeared. One moment he had been there, the next, he was not. Taking deep breaths, she moved towards Ryan, who snoozed her as he licked her fur. Locking her head with his, she could feel as her heartbeat slowed down.
