What the hell did she mean by that? Kelvin grabbed his wife’s shoulders. “What happened to your face?”
“Nothing.”
“Leila,” he whispered in a warning.
She stepped away from him and walked on like it was normal for her cheeks to be swollen. Kelvin’s hand hitched in his hair. She was making this difficult for both of them.
Leila stopped by the car and he rushed to open it. She got in without another word to him and his heart beat faster as he slipped inside. He started the car but didn’t drive. None of them spoke a word to each other.

“Just take me home.”
