He didn't believe it when I told him that someone was missing among those killed. No matter what I said, he always found something to say, something that made me look out of depth.

"Believe me, please, Sheriff," I said, tired of trying to prove my point.

"Come on, this is a police force, not some therapeutical building, where emotions are the order. How could you just expect me to believe that there is someone else that's not on the picture. Come on, mate, say something better."

I brought out my phone and immediately went for my gallery. I went for the picture that had Kianna and the other guys. "See," I said, showing it to him, "the lady that stood by me is Kianna. She's the one I'm talking about. You gotta believe me."

"That's not enough," he said, quickly handing me back my phone. He wasn't even interested in absorbing what I had just shown him. "Tell me something else I should know, something that would make me think of believing you."
