Eva’s POV

Last night was a truly tough one for me. I happened to walk into the kitchen and saw Mark and Mom hugging each other intimately, and I didn't know how to react.

I was so stunned that I couldn't even bring myself to say anything, so I just plastered a fake smile, on my face, walked back to my room, and shut the door.

As soon as I was alone, I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. It's just so hard seeing something like that and feeling like I have nowhere to turn. And before I know it, I'm verge of tears.

Yes, it might seem silly for me to be crying right now, especially since everything was crystal clear from the start.

From the moment I met Mark, to when we made our deal, to when I fell for him, and ultimately when the deal came to an end - it was all clear for both of us.

However, it's natural to feel emotional when dealing with matters of the heart, especially when you've invested a lot of time and energy into it. It's hurt you badly.
