CHAPTER 10

Her smile still hadn’t faded away even when she was already inside the elevator, and was already heading down. She finished every last droplet of the coffee from the paper cup and even kissed the cup itself. She had no plans on throwing the cup in the trash bin. Why would she? The ghost of Clyde’s lips was still there.

She could no longer count how many times she kissed the paper cup before the elevator door opened. When the door opened, she was face to face with a man who probably saw her kissing the cup as confusion was evident in his countenance. Two of his companions even stared at her as well. The timing wasn’t really on her side as when the door opened, she was still kissing the cup, and who knew how strange she could’ve looked for doing so even when she was quick to stop what she was doing. She was already on the ground floor.

Shit! It was Clyde who saw her doing that strange thing!

Wait!

But Clyde was upstairs, right? Why was he suddenly on the ground floor? How was he able to go down even before she did? And when she looked at his clothes, she saw that he was wearing a white coat instead of the black coat that he was wearing just a few minutes ago.

She looked at the guy standing in front of her with curiosity plastered across her face. She still hadn’t stepped out of the elevator when the three of them stepped inside. She still stared at the guy, confused.

"Won't you go out, Miss?" one of his companions who was an old man asked her. As he was pushing the button of the elevator.

She blinked at him in a consecutive manner, and she was on the way, standing in the doorway itself. The curiosity in their eyes as they stared at her intensified.

"Yes?” asked Clyde.

Wait... was that really Clyde or was she just being deceived by her own eyes?

She was about to ask him when his other companion, who was only about the same age as Clyde, opened his mouth to talk.

"Clyde, Kyle is in the conference room already. Zara just called," the guy said before giving her another look.

It was Kyle who was up there?! Disbelief was plastered right across her face when she looked at the person who just talked.

"Miss, we are in a hurry. Are you going up again or what?” his companion asked when she still hadn’t moved from her position.

"Oh, sorry sorry," she hastily said before stepping outside of the elevator completely. Her eyes and Clyde’s met before the door of the elevator closed. The expression on his face was blank.

She still hadn’t moved from where she was standing even before the elevator door had already closed as her mind was still processing everything that just happened.

How did it happen that the guy that she talked to a while ago was Kyle? What she remembered was that the guy had long hair like what she could see on TV. The guy that she saw a while ago didn’t have long hair nor did he have piercings in his ear. He was even wearing formal attire!

She still felt out of her mind when she was walking in the direction of the applicants that were still waiting. She put the cup inside her bag without really thinking. She hadn’t noticed that she was already standing in front of the girl who insulted her a while ago.

"Are you looking for the exit door, Miss? It’s just in front, look! Quick, and you’ll be late for your interview at the other building.” Annoyance was still evident from her voice as she pointed at the exit of the building.

The people who heard what she said laughed, and that was when Natasha finally got her footing back.

The girl seemed to enjoy shaming her so much! She was even the one who looked like a skeleton, and someone who hadn’t eaten for days. Was she the definition of being pretty? She thought of that as she stared at the girl in front of her.

“Do you really want to ruin my day, Miss?” She stopped calling the other applicants and faced her completely.

She gave her a sweet smile before raising her resume in front of her face. It was the same resume that Kyle signed. There was also a big “HIRED” that was written on it alongside his signature. He also indicated the position that she was accepted to, and the monthly salary that she’d be getting.

"Well, I'm hired!" she proudly said before looking back at the other applicants who still chortled a laugh.

It seemed as if they did not believe her. The girl in front of her, on the other hand, just glared at her and didn’t even look at the resume that she was holding.

“Well, you’re Bridgette, right? Well, Mr. Kyle del Espania said that I should give this to you so that you could make a job offer and a contract that I can sign. If you don’t believe me, then you should ask him yourself. But he’s busy because of his meeting on the tenth floor,” she said, still flashing the playful smile on her face.

The girl took the resume from her to read what was written there. She saw how her eyes widened because of disbelief. She didn’t say anything and just stared at her from head to toe once again.

"Yes? Do you want me to call Mr. del Espania for you?” she warned her, still standing there.

The girl gathered a deep breath before speaking.

"Please sit down first, Miss Policarpio. I will call you once your contract is ready,” she said as if she was being forced.

"Thank you," she said with a huge smile before turning to face the other applicants who were listening to their conversation.

She held her resume up as if slapping it to their faces, before pointing at the word “HIRED” that was written in there.

"Yep, I'm hired. Congratulations to me!" Their eyes followed her finger that was pointing at the paper that she was holding. She didn’t even hesitate to do that, especially when she remembered how they shamed her.

She walked in their direction slowly before sitting on an empty chair. While the other applicants continued staring at her.

Oh yes, what about all of you? She wanted to tell them as her smile was still plastered on her face. She opened her bag to get her cellphone so that she could call her grandmother and Shirley already, and tell them about the good news.

She was quick to cover her mouth when she saw the paper cup that was inside her bag.

So it was Kyle who she had an indirect kiss with because of that cup! She quickly grimaced because of it. She was even very excited because she thought that it was Clyde. There were even traces of coffee inside her bag, and now the content of it looked even messier because of it! Her earphones were even wet. She took the paper cup and threw it in the bin. She no longer had any plans on keeping it as it was Kyle instead of Clyde. It was that guy’s lips instead of her love’s!

Why did she always mistake Kyle as Clyde?

Of course, they are twins, right? That was what her mind told her.

Aargh! But even so, she still thanked the guy before. If it weren’t for him, she would go back home with tears on her face. She just thought of thinking that Kyle would be the bridge for her to reach Clyde, and he’d be hers finally.

She even felt like trembling because of the giddiness that she was feeling. The love of her life was still drop-dead gorgeous, although he was still the usual Clyde who didn’t talk a lot, unlike his twin brother. She didn’t even see him smile a while ago. He was still serious just like before, and that was probably the reason why she fell for him as he was the opposite of Kyle. When she saw Kyle for the first time, she already thought of him to be someone who had no clear direction in life, unlike Clyde who seemed to have his life sorted out already.

That was when she remembered the beautiful girl that he was talking with back at the concert. But she thought that she already broke up with him because she wasn’t like his twin brother? Where could Claire be? She would never forget that name because she remembered how she felt the pain and sadness in Kyle’s voice when he mentioned her name before she went away completely.

Well...

She thought that the guy had already moved on from that girl as she could see that there were a lot of women who were linked to him whenever the news talked about the band.

Oh yes, why was the guy there? And why did he cut his hair?

Did he leave his band completely?

She tilted her head.

Hmmp, what about it? I don’t care about him!

The person with who she was willing to spend her time was Clyde, especially when she was already so near to him. She swore to herself before that she would do anything just for him to love her back.

Clyde, I hope you’re ready for the bewitchment from Tasyang who is so in love with you.

She could even laugh out loud because of what she was thinking, but she chose not to.

You’re mine, Clyde. I’ll be Mrs. Natasha Del Espania. Carve that on a stone!
