Chapter 6: I accept the offer

I believed that my survival capabilities, which included great strength while raising up Lilly, were something worth acknowledging. It was a bitter lesson that I had learned by then that people were not worth trusting because they let you down. It was a hard lesson exemplified by my ex-husband; he had shattered my trust and left me with a broken heart to mourn for the life I once knew.
