Chapter 67

SIERRA

A loud buzzing noise disturbs my sleep, forcing me to open my eyes. It's dark and for one moment, the horrible thought that Xavier caught me again and imprisoned me invades my mind. Only, the familiar scent of my mate keeps the hysteria at bay.

Slowly, the images of Fenris killing Xavier and then carrying me to some car, giving me hot water and then falling asleep, enter my mind. I fell asleep. Oh yes, and it was the best sleep I've had in a long time.

"Shut up, Fenris. She's awake," someone says loudly and a growl slips from my throat. It's too loud for my ears.

Looking around, I search for my mate knowing that he's here with me but my brain doesn't co-operate with me. I feel stiff and heavy. My body feels heavy as if I am suffering from a hangover.

He notices my discomfort, perhaps, as he leans over my body and soon, his face comes into my view. I find his wide cobalt blue gaze. There are shadows beneath his eyes no doubt from worrying about me. He has a beard. Oh my! He look
