It's too warm, I think as I wake up. Turning my head, I bump my nose directly into the source of the warmness and see that it's the chest of my huge mate who's wrapped around me like a wise, protecting me even in his sleep, making sure that I don't go anywhere, as if I would want to be anywhere else.

Never.

I came very close to lose everything. My mate and our pup, I almost lost them because of Xavier and I can't thank the Goddess enough for sending my mate there when she did.

I nuzzle my nose in his chest and he stirs rolling to lie on his back and pulling me with him. Now I am the one draped over him and I fully intend to take advantage of it. I lift my face over his chest and take in my mate's sleeping form. He looks relieved, less tired. The shadows under his eyes have vanished and his face looks serene even with all that beard covering his face.

I let my gaze roam over his neck, his chest and shoulders checking for myself that he's fine. The memory of his skin burning afte
