Chapter 16

Red POV

I sighed, bored out of my mind. It’s been hours, and the whole place is quiet and boring. I sat up in my bed. I don’t even know where Adrain went. I stood up, dragging myself out of my room. I walked down the hallway, and the whole place was so quiet; it’s like I am the only one alive. What is going on here?

“This is getting creepy,” I mumbled.

“What is?” a voice said. I jumped, turning around in shock, and Maven stood there, floating in the air. That is why I didn’t notice her.

“Jeez, you scared me,” I said, patting my chest. She smiled.

“I do that a lot,” she said, standing on her toes. I breathed out, looking at her.

“What are you doing?” she asked, tilting her head. My mom used to do that.

“I’m bored,” I said. She smiled, grabbing my arm and dragging me to a room—probably her room. She opened the door and didn’t even allow me to admire the room as she had dragged me off to the balcony, where there was a comfortable sofa. She dropped me on it, sitting opposite me, an
