Chapter 22

Red POV

We toured around the academy, and it wasn’t like I expected. Rodney and Aurelian were awfully quiet after a visit to Kion. I could see Aurelian still boiling in anger and I know he has all rights to be angry because I would also be angry, but the tour ended with me asking questions carefully in order not to make him more angry and Rodney answering the best way he could.

“Don’t think about it too much,” Rodney said to Aurelian as we stood in front of the elevator.

“I will try,” he said, and they shared a warm hug.

“See you later, Red,” he said, smiling, and he left after my short wave. Aurelian entered the elevator, and immediately the elevator closed. I found myself backed up to the wall, his lips on mine. I was shocked for a second as it happened so suddenly. Is that why he has been staring at me all day? He carried me up, my legs wrapped around his waist, and I kissed him back roughly.
