Chapter FIVE

Lola woke up the next morning with a splitting headache. Her eyes fluttered open and she glanced at her surroundings confusedly. This place didn't look like her bedroom, where was she? She glanced around the room until suddenly it hit her, she wasn't in her bedroom because she was in a hotel room. But why was she here in a hotel room?

As Lola was trying to figure out exactly what was going on amidst the splitting headache, something or someone stirred on the bed next to her. Lola froze and turned to the other side of the bed slowly. To say that Lola was shocked would be an understatement when she saw her boss lying down naked next to her. She immediately shot up on the bed. She was too shocked to scream as she just sat there frozen. She tried her very best to remember what exactly had happened last night that had led up to this turn of events but the splitting headache wasn't making it easy.

She remembered getting a call from a waiter at La Rousseau's to come pick her boss up. She remembered being forced to drink with him. She also remembered getting into the hotel room with him and she remembered the feeling of his lips on hers.

Wait, he had kissed her! Had they also? Lola gulped as she slowly raised the duvet up and peeped underneath, she was completely naked. Lola's worst fears began to feel real. Had they slept together? Did she just sleep with her boss? Lola suddenly felt suffocated. How could this happen? How had she ended up sleeping with her boss?

As the different thoughts and questions ran through Lola's mind, Adriel stirred in his sleep again. Lola held her breath and prayed that he wouldn't wake. If he woke up now, she didn't know how to face him. Luckily for her, Adriel only stirred and didn't wake. Lola breathed a sigh of relief when Adriel didn't wake up. She slowly began to get out of the bed, careful not to wake Adriel. She gathered her clothes which were scattered all over the floor and put them on.

Once she was fully dressed, Lola took a glance at Adriel who was still lying asleep on the bed. She didn't know if it was alright for her to just leave like this without a word. But if she stayed, what the hell was she supposed to say? Deciding if it was better to just leave, Lola picked up her bag and left the room as quietly as possible.

As Lola exited the hotel, her thoughts were in a mess. How could she let this happen? She had been able to work with Adriel for this long because she was the only one who had shown the least interest in him so how come this happened? The thoughts seemed to intensify her headache as she began to massage her head. As she waited for a cab, Lola brought out her phone and was surprised to see so many missed calls. They were all from Camille.

'Oh my God!!', Lola exclaimed in her mind. She had forgotten all about Camille. She must have been worried sick. Lola made to call her back but then she stopped. What was she supposed to tell her? How was she supposed to tell her? Deciding against calling her back, Lola dropped her phone back into her bag and went back to waiting for a cab.

The cab stopped in front of Lola's apartment building and she alighted after paying the driver. She slowly made her way into the elevator.

'Ding!', the elevator rang signaling it had reached Lola's floor. Lola made her way to her apartment and using the key she had with her, she slowly opened the door. Once she was inside her appointment, Lola closed the door slowly and carefully behind her. She began to walk towards the living room when she paused. She noticed Camille lying down on the sofa asleep.

She must have been waiting for her. Lola tried to tip toe past her as quietly as possible but Camille suddenly woke up.

"And where are you coming from?", Camille asked her.

Lola turned around slowly to find Camille staring at her angrily.

"Nowhere", Lola answered timidly.

"What do you mean nowhere?", Camille asked back.

"You left last night and said you'll be back but I didn't hear back from you. I tried to call you a dozen times but you weren't answering and now you are returning at this hour, so how come you are coming from nowhere?", Camille asked her sternly.

Lola shifted uncomfortably.

"Wait, did you drink?", Camille asked suddenly after scrutinizing her.

"No", Lola answered immediately and Camille narrowed her eyes at her.

"I mean yes, just a little", Lola told her truthfully.

Camille stared at her fixedly for a few minutes.

"I need you to tell me what the hell happened last night, right now!", Camille demanded.

Lola bit her lip.

Meanwhile in the hotel room, Adriel began to stir and eventually woke up. The first thing he felt was the banging headache he had but he was already sort of used to the feeling. So unlike Lola he was able to gather his thoughts a bit faster. The first thing he noticed was that he was in a hotel room and not his bedroom. But how had he gotten here?

He remembered the date with Allison going wrong and Allison even waking out on him. But he was sure that he had come to the hotel room with a woman. If Allison had walked out on him, who had he come to the hotel with? Adriel tried his best to remember. He remembered the woman telling him that they were in a hotel as they staggered along the corridors.

He remembered opening his eyes and seeing....

'But no way, that was impossible, there was no way she was here'

It had to be someone else. Adriel tried his hardest to remember who it was he came to the hotel room with until a face finally came to mind and Adriel froze.

'No way! Had he spent the night with his secretary?!!'
