Chapter Four

Lola struggled with Adriel as they got into the elevator of the hotel. Lola was beginning to feel tipsy but she was still much better than Adriel was really drunk and as such was leaning his entire weight on her. The elevator bell dinged and they got out. They both wobbled along the corridor as Lola tried to look for the room number.

As they wobbled along, Adriel's eyes fluttered open.

"Where are we? Did you take me home?", he asked her.

"No, we are in a hotel", Lola answered.

"Oh good, I don't want to go home", Adriel said softly before closing his eyes again.

Lola understood what he meant. In such a state, she knew better than to take Adriel home, his parents would probably nag the hell out of him, which was why she brought him here.

"Ah", Lola breathed out a sigh of relief when she finally found the room number.

Still struggling with Adriel leaning on her, Lola fumbled for the key and inserted it into the lock.

She opened the door of the room and they both staggered inside. Trying her very best to keep steady, Lola helped Adriel onto the bed. After dropping Adriel on the bed, Lola straightened herself and stretched out. She glanced at Adriel that was lying down haphazardly on the bed and sighed. She moved to position him better on the bed but stumbled. She rubbed her eyes. She was beginning to feel more and more lightheaded. She tried to remain sober. She just needed to make sure Adriel was comfortable, then she could leave.

She took a deep breath to clear her thoughts then got to work. She first took off Adriel's shoes and placed his leg more comfortably on the bed. Then she unknotted his tie and took it off. She took off his suit jacket as well so he could sleep more comfortably. The entire process was slow because Adriel would stir from time to time and make it hard for her to continue with what she was doing. Or she would get so light headed, it would become hard for her to focus. But finally she was able to finish. She stood at the side of the bed, hands on her waist as she stared at Adriel's sleeping face. He looked so much like a baby as he slept, sweet and innocent. Nothing like the playboy that loved to play with feelings. As Lola watched him she couldn't help but wonder what could have gone wrong with Adriel's date that he would drink to such an extent. Sure Adriel had had his fair share of rejection but Lola had never seen him take a rejection so badly that he would get drunk.

'Why do I even worry?', Lola thought to herself.

Lola suddenly felt dizzy again and she had to grab on to the bedpost to steady herself.

After getting control of herself, Lola searched around for her bag. She placed the key of the room on the bed side table and prepared to leave when Adriel suddenly grabbed her hand.

Lola was shocked.

She turned to look at Adriel who was now staring intently at her.

"M... Mr. Alvarez please let go", Lola said as she struggled to free herself from his grasp.

"No, don't leave", he said softly.

"Mr. Alvarez, I have to go", Lola told him.

"No, I know you didn't mean it. You didn't mean what you said, don't go", Adriel pleaded with her.

Lola was taken aback by the sincerity in his eyes, she wasn't sure she had ever seen Adriel with such a look in his eyes before. But what did he mean by she didn't mean what she had said? What had she said to him? Or did he think she was someone else? Allison Tarmani perhaps? Had Allison said something that had made a deep impression on him?

"Mr. Alvarez, it's me, Miss Garcia, I didn't say anything, please let me go, I need to go home", Lola tried to explain.

Suddenly Adriel pulled her towards him and she ended up landing on the bed next to him. Lola completely froze.

'What is happening right now?', she wondered.

She had landed so close to Adriel that she could feel his breath on her face.

"No, you'll leave, I won't let you leave", he said softly.

Lola struggled to get up but Adriel was holding her down firmly and the fact that she was already quite light headed made it hard.

"You didn't mean what you said, right?", Adriel asked her softly.

Lola could feel the heat rising in her cheeks. A result of the tipsiness and of the close proximity of Adriel. His drunken voice sent tingles through her.

'No', Lola mentally slapped herself.

'You can't be thinking like that', she scolded herself.

Suddenly she felt Adriel's warm and slender fingers brush across her face. He was caressing her. Lola laid completely still as his touch made her tingle.

"Don't leave me again", Adriel told her softly.

Lola felt her lightheadedness intensify as she began to feel like she was floating.

"Promise me you won't leave me again", Adriel said.

"I promise", Lola found herself agreeing.

Before she could register what she just said, she felt a sudden wet and soft sensation on her lips, Adriel was kissing her!!!!

Lola laid completely still, frozen with shock. Soon Adriel disengaged from the kiss. He stared directly into her eyes. Lola couldn't move, there was something about the emotion in his eyes that held her captive, she just couldn't look away. She didn't understand what was happening to her. She had never been interested in Adriel or at least that was what she told herself so why was she feeling this way.

"Don't leave me ever again", Adriel whispered and leaned in to kiss her again.

Somewhere at the back of her mind, Lola was aware that she shouldn't be doing this, Adriel had probably mistaken her for someone else and that she should stop this madness before it went too far but she couldn't. It could be because of the tipsiness or the soft feeling of his lips on hers that left her wanting more, but Lola found herself responding to his kiss.
