CHAPTER 40

RUBY’S POV

Dennis was ecstatic when he heard what I had to tell him and he urged me to get more information so he could get to work and snatch the contract from Dax as fast as possible.

The call finally came to an end and I tried to sleep but I couldn’t. Thoughts of what happened between me and Dax the previous day and my struggle to make up a plan on how to get more information from him about the contract filled my head and it made it difficult for me to go back to sleep.

With a groan, I sat up and I knew I had to distract myself for a while to get rid of thoughts of Dax for that moment.

Grudgingly, I got down from bed and made my way to the bathroom where I had a quick bath and dressed up in a yellow sundress after I got out of the bathroom.

Then I held my hair up in a tight bun since I didn’t want it down my shoulders and I wore a pair of sandals intending to look very casual before I grabbed a brown purse, placed my necessities in it, and made my way to the living roo
