CHAPTER 62

RUBY’S POV

I couldn't sleep through the night. No matter how hard I tried, nothing worked so when morning came, I was the first to get out of bed.

Grudgingly, I made my way to the kitchen because I still had to fulfill my apology to Clarissa by making breakfast and I decided to make some sandwiches for breakfast.

I busied myself with breaking the eggs and slicing the bread into slices and Clarissa joined me when I was in the middle of toasting the slices.

She gave me a brief kiss on the cheek before she grabbed an apple from the first bowl and I smiled to myself.

“Slept well?” she asked from where she sat and I decided to be honest so I shook my head in response before turning to look back at her. She looked concerned for me.

“Something bothering you huh?” she asked again and I shrugged as I took the already toasted slices of bread out and kept them on a plate before I began to scramble the eggs and she came over to stand beside me by the counter.
