Chapter Forty-Seven

The girls can be mischievous sometimes. I locked the door behind me, and they kept knocking on my door. The knocking died down after a while, and I was on the bed trying to recollect the events of the day.

"I killed someone, I thought to myself. It was kind of unbelievable; I didn't know what I was feeling, shaken or glad I did.

"He would have killed me if I didn't shoot him." I tried convincing myself so I could feel a little less bad.

I was preparing for bed when I decided to check up on Mace. I stepped out of the room and went to the sitting room. I peered out of the window, and his car was still packed outside. I smiled and went back to the room to get some sleep. I went in under my cover. I placed my head on the pillow but couldn't sleep. I kept turning on the bed, hoping to doze off, but sleep eluded me.
