Chapter 74

Becca's POV

"Bas," I murmured as I jolted upright. Ugh, my head was pounding like a drum. I groaned, pressing my palms to my temples in a vain attempt to ease the pain.

"Oh great, you're awake," Lola said, walking in with a cup in her hand. Her cheerful tone was a stark contrast to how I felt.

"Here," she said, offering me the cup. "It might taste yucky, but I can assure you it's the best hangover cure."

I took the cup from her, the smell hitting me so hard I almost gagged. "What is this?" I asked, my nose wrinkling. "It's best you don't know, just drink up," she said with a knowing smile. I glanced at the cup and then at her. If it wasn't the pounding sensation in my head, I would never have touched this drink.

Slowly, I took a sip. The bitterness hit me immediately, but I forced myself to swallow.

"Ugh," I groaned, grimacing.

"Quite a night," Lola said as she sat on the edge of the bed, watching me with a mix of concern and amusement. "Do you remember what happened?"
