Chapter 70

Lucy's pov;

Daniel dropped me in front of Tyler's house and tried to leave without coming in so I asked, "Aren't you going to come inside?"

"I have to get to work."

"Okay then, but don't forget to come tonight. Since you bought lunch for me, dinner's on me. I'll be waiting for you."

"Okay." and drove off Tyler's driveway with his window rolled down.

I walked up the concrete steps that led into the house. I opened it and went inside. There were only a couple of lights in the place. It wasn't very dark or light either. The windows all had shades over them but I could still make out a few things as I moved along. As my eyes got used to the darkness, they started picking out details.

I turned on the lights and walked to the kitchen , where the refrigerator was. It contained nothing but a few frozen dinners, some eggs and milk which was about all there was in the fridge.
