Author's POV The stench of burning cigarettes woke Nora up. She squinted her eyes and was in the process of using her hands to rub them when she discovered it was tied to a chair. Again! Nora began to panic. She wasn't in a dark black room now. The room she was in had sunshine coming in through an open window, and it was medium in size and smelt normal—not like the last one she'd been in. They finally got to their destination and Nora couldn't help but gasp when she saw Alvin was kneeling on the ground. They were under a large and empty car canopy near a swimming pool at the front of the house which Nora had earlier discovered to not just be a normal house but a pineapple themed villa. Mr Miller was sitting on an expensive looking chair coated with gold. He had a big cigar in his mouth and the expression on his face didn't look happy at all. Alvin on the other one was still masked to the disappointment of Nora—she had secretly hoped the mask would be off his face by now. Nora's POV I was silenced by Mr Miller's question. I started to nervously scratch my skin with my fingers as I looked at him eye to eye. But eventually, I realised that he'd see through me if I didn't stop so I diverted from his gaze and looked at Alvin. For the first time since I met him; this was the time I really wished I could see his face. I needed to know what he was thinking—just seeing the emptiness in his eyes and the sad way he curled his lips was not enough for me. Maybe I'd have known how to handle his father if I could see his face. I don't know why I'm so convinced that Mr Miller purposely asked this question. He knew what he was doing; and I couldn't shake the fact that he might really be the “Don Miller” I think he is. Nora's POV I woke up to a slight pain in my head. My hands moved on the bed with closed eyes to find my phone. But the texture of the bed sheets made me realise too soon that it wasn't the one on my bed. I carefully opened my eyes, and for a second thought I was dreaming. I was on top of a king size bed in a room as large as our whole house. There were thick and expensive-looking curtains covering the windows, a castle chandelier, some chairs and some other things. The room smelt of wealth, and for a second I wished it was my house in heaven. Author's POV The night was cool and peaceful, and the only sounds being heard was from nature and the busy roads of Los Angeles. Nora was in the room she had woken up in. Nora had learnt that she was the woman in charge of all Alvin's maids. And she had wondered just how many staff he had in this gigantic house since he lived alone. He had a lot going on in his life—and just closing his eyes made him see his problems and automatically decide that they can never be a permanent solution to them. Nora's face suddenly popped into his memory and he shut his eyes immediately. He couldn't stop thinking about her and wondering what she thought about him. He had stopped her from going home not just because it was dark but because he didn't want to risk the possibility of her being seen by his father. Alvin was sure his father could decide to kill her silently and sweep it under the chair—and there was no way he would know about it since it'll be very unlikely and absurd for them to “coincidentally” meet again.
