Killian's POV

As I sat down in my room, the thoughts of my loss sinking in and the brutal injuries I had sustained from trying to get to Brielle, a thought dropped to my mind and that was about mainly tracing the reasons of why I wasn't able to get Brielle in the first place.

My wolf informed me about several reasons but I wasn't patient enough to outline his suggestions. I rather chose my belief and assumed it was true.

I called to my Beta now that he had been freed and he slowly bowed as he got in. He stood right in front of me while I rose to my feet and sat on my bed.

"What do you think is the real cause for being weak, compared to Hades?" I asked, concern etched on my face.

"You're not weak, Alpha." He retorted and forced a smile to his chin. I knew he was trying to make me feel better and feel more of myself but I wasn't feeling motivated at this point.

"Then what am I? I've not been able to catch up with Hades since the last time he escaped. I've pursued him well in times past
