Amelia's POV

I let out a shaky breath as I swiftly moved away from the window, my heart pounding in my chest. The last thing I needed was for Alpha Kayden to catch me spying on him. The consequences would undoubtedly be severe.

As I retreated from the window, I couldn't shake the feeling of dread that lingered in the pit of my stomach. It was as though I was constantly on edge, always looking over my shoulder, afraid of what might happen next.

I couldn't tell if he had felt what I felt.. or If he knew that he was my mate. Bit for the few weeks that I had spent with him, I knew undoubtedly that he was impossible to read.

Even though he shared the same feeling with me, he wouldn't show it even in the slightest.

With a heavy sigh, I walked towards the bed and collapsed onto it, the soft mattress enveloping me in its embrace. "I'm losing my mind," I muttered into the pillow, my voice muffled by the fabric.
