2. Business Partners

How she appeared at the hotel today was not according to her original schedule. She was supposed to work at the hotel tomorrow morning, but she received a call from her assistant this morning and ended up changing her fate.

["Sis, you know that flights are usually delayed for various reasons, right? But that's not the case today because our flight is ahead of schedule. We were supposed to fly tomorrow, but the sky can't wait to meet us, and that's why you have to take off right now if you don't want to be scolded by the sky."]

That was what her assistant, Tammy Burner, told her this morning. She was not surprised by how her assistant chose such a difficult way to explain the situation to her, and she was able to immediately understand the content of the nonsensical narrative.

'The flight' was her schedule, while 'The sky' was the person she would be working with today. In conclusion, her assistant tried to tell her that her schedule to meet the person had been pushed to today and that she should hurry if she didn't want to be late.

Jessica couldn't stop cursing her younger assistant when she was just informed about the rescheduling. However, her opinion then changed, and she felt grateful instead because she could finally see her husband's true colors.

"He's my business partner, Jess. You remember yesterday I left our house for a business trip, right? The business trip is at this hotel, and the two of us discussed many things together since yesterday. After everything is done, I'm going to return home later today," Noah tried to explain, but another smirk appeared on Jessica's face after hearing the explanation.

"So, you discussed many things with your business partner mouth-to-mouth?" Cynically, Jessica continued to attack her husband verbally. "Ah, I'm not even sure if that can be called a discussion, and perhaps it should be called a 'mukbang' instead. What kind of business partners would eat each other's lips hungrily?"

"..." Noah couldn't answer straight away this time when his wife sounded increasingly cynical towards him.

At a glance, Jessica looked like a disobedient wife who didn't want to listen to her husband. Her husband was even one year older than her, but she seemed impolite if outsiders saw their situation.

However, it was still early in the morning, and the hotel was still quiet. The only outsider in the area was the man still standing in the swimming pool, but Jessica wasn't even sure whether that man was really an outsider or not.

Meanwhile, Noah was silent for a moment, but then his heavy sigh broke the silence around them. "Okay, I'll explain everything to you," he finally gave in and no longer tried to run away from his wife's interrogation. "To be honest, that man is—"

"Why are you still here, sis? Don't you know that the Adonis is waiting for you in his room?"

Before Noah could finish what he wanted to say, a loud voice sounded in the outdoor area of the hotel, and Jessica gritted her teeth angrily before turning to look at the person.

There was indeed someone running towards the pool area, and it was a woman with a bob haircut. She wore a white t-shirt combined with white pants, and she looked like a rabbit as she did small jumps while running towards the pool. Unfortunately, it wasn't a rabbit, and the woman wasn't cute at all. It was just her assistant, Tammy Burner, and Jessica looked more annoyed when the younger woman stopped running after reaching her side.

"You don't want to answer my question?" The short-haired woman asked again because her previous question was unanswered. "I'm talking about your man for today, sis. He needs your service immediately so he can feel satisfied, so we better go to his room now."

Tammy even reached out her hand before grabbing her wrist, about to pull her away when Noah suddenly spoke again, "What exactly are you going to do in this place, Jess? Today was supposed to be your day off, but you're going to meet a guy in a hotel room now? What game are you playing?"

It seemed their positions changed, and Noah was even able to show his dominant side when questioning his wife.

Unfortunately, that only made Jessica even more irritated as she turned to her husband again and answered, "Not everyone is like you, Mr. Brooks. Today is supposed to be my day off, but I am a dedicated employee at my company, and that's why I agreed to some rescheduling and came to this place today instead of tomorrow. I'm not like you, and the only purpose of my being here is to work."

The visible tension between the couple could be seen again, and Tammy furrowed her brows in confusion. When she turned her head to the side, she could finally see another person, and she could also recognize that person as Jessica's husband. That only added to her confusion, but she didn't have time to question the man's presence because she could hear Jessica's voice once again.

"I'm going to go meet my business partner now, and we'll talk later after I finish working. If you dare escape, then our next meeting will be in a trial."

It was clear that Jessica was directing her words at her husband, but Tammy could hear everything because she was still standing next to the blonde woman. It was like she was standing between two different sides ready to attack each other, and the tension was so unbearable that she could only stand awkwardly, wanting to escape if she could.

However, before she could escape, Jessica grabbed her wrist, and she was forced to move away from the swimming pool. She moved away from Noah too, but she still managed to look back and frown confusedly at the brown-haired man. She could see the man had a complicated expression on his face, but then her gaze seemed to be drawn by a magnet when she looked at another man in the swimming pool. Unfortunately, her frown only deepened when she saw the man.
