Chapter 24: Coffee Shop

Lizzy.

I was washing my hands in the sink when I suddenly saw a big spider in the mirror that caused me to scream so loud. I was panting while wiping my hands and rushing my way to the door. I am arachnophobic and that's why I couldn't breathe whenever I see a spider, big or small.

I was crying when I opened the door, I almost fainted when I found myself inside Jace's arms. I was trembling in fear as I hold him so I wouldn't fall.

"Hey, it's okay," he said softly. I braced myself when he went inside to kill the spider, I guess. Then, he went back to me.

"Is it gone?" My hands were still shaking.

"Yes, it's gone. Let's go," he said.

Jace led me to the rooftop to get some air. He also brought me a cup of tea to make me calmer. He sat in front of me and observed if I was still panting but I wasn't anymore. Thanks to the tea he made for me.

"How did you know?" I asked, still holding the cup in my hand.
