It wasn’t long before Luke saw Vera step into the living room.

Luke silently watched Vera. He had to force himself not to smile when he watched Vera admire all the food.

But then she slid her eyes to Luke.

‘Please, sit.’

He motioned Vera to sit at the table.

Vera didn’t think about it and sat at the table. Luke then sat beside her.

‘I didn’t know what you liked. So, I figured that I would order everything.’

‘I’m not fussy. I’ll eat anything.’ Vera told him.

This pleased Luke.

Though he didn’t show it.

He reached across the table and grabbed a piece of toast and then scooped about four spoons of scrabbled eggs.

Luke smiled to himself when he saw Vera grab a banana and a bunch of grapes first.

A good girl. He thought.

Though what made him nearly lose his seriousness was when the next thing she grabbed was the jug of coffee.

Not so good, after all. He then thought.

Luke finished his eggs.

Vera finished her fruit. And now she was getting into a pile of scrambled eggs.

He liked it that it looked like Vera didn’t care about watching what she eats.

Not like most of the women around him.

Though watching Vera eat, he couldn’t understand where it was all going to fit.

He was amazed that she had a nice body. She was very skinny. But he could tell that she was strong. She was fit.

He had to leave now.

He needed to take a breather.

He had to.

‘I have to go now. But you can take as long as you need.’ He had suddenly spoke. It kind of startled her. Because it had been silent for minutes.

Luke then hopped up and turned to leave.

‘Wait.’ Vera called out.

It jolted Luke to a stop.

Hearing her voice, telling him to stop. She didn’t want him to leave.

Did that mean she trusted him. He wondered.

Luke turned back to Vera and gave her a look as if to say, say what you were going to ask.

She didn’t looked fazed.

If anything, the look she gave back was if she was challenging him.

She was a tough woman. He thought.

‘Have I still got the job? If so, when do I start?’ she asked, then.

Luke tried not to smile. Though his mouth betrayed him, by slightly twitching.

He liked that she wasn’t scared to approach him. She didn’t cower like everyone else does.

‘It’s still yours. I’ll email you the details.’ Was all he said before turning away and walking out of his penthouse.

Usually he wouldn’t have left a woman in his room. He didn’t trust women to not go through his belongings.

But he trusted Vera Rayne.

After all, she has only shown him trust.

He had trusted her to give him a son and then hand the child over without her even seeing what the baby looked like.

She didn’t even ask what sex was the child.

He trusted her with his most precious thing that was his.

That was his seed.

He gave it to her and she delivered.

With a bonus.

She didn’t just give him a son. But she also gave him a daughter.

His children were his everything.

His son, he was the heir to his company. He was very much like himself.

His daughter, she was his little princess. She couldn’t do anything wrong.

...

Meanwhile...

Vera felt uncomfortable being in her bosses hotel room. And he wasn’t here with her.

She thought about just leaving her breakfast and leave.

But she somehow knew that he would probably know.

He probably would ask the kitchen staff, how much food was left on the trolley.

She could only eat it.

So, as quick as she could, she shoved the food into her mouth.

She was going to regret it. She knew that she was going to be sick.

But she didn’t want to stay here for much more longer.

Vera ate her banana and grapes and then finished a bunch of scrambled eggs. She gulped it down with her coffee, finishing it with the glass of orange juice.

She was definitely going to regret it later.

Vera saw that there was still two banana’s on the trolley. And because banana’s were her favourite fruit she dared to take them.

It was an extremely brave thing to do. Considering that Mr. Reynolds was the type of man, the type of person to execute the person who stole from him.

But she figured that he has only shown her kindness. Even though his reputation had said that he was the complete opposite.

She also figured that, it was already paid for. And therefore, it wasn’t stealing.

....

Luke sat in his office, watching the security cameras of his penthouse.

He wasn’t spying on her because he didn’t trust her.

It was because he just wanted to look at her.

He had thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever met.

As he stared at the screen, a smile spread across his face when he saw Vera open the door and before stepping out, she had peered her head out and carefully looked back and forth.

It was clear to Luke that she didn’t want to be seen coming out of his room.

She was worried what pass buyers thought of her.

He watched on still.

Vera then decided that it was OK to leave. So, she quickly stepped out of the room and then practically running for the lift.

In that time, Luke had noticed two things.

Both made him smile.

One more than the other.

First. Luke had noticed that she had taken two bananas. He smiled because she took something from him.

It made him happy. Because he wanted to give her anything she wanted. And if she could take even just bananas. Then one day she may accept other gifts.

Second. Luke had noticed that Vera didn’t have her heels on. Not even in hers hands.

It made Luke smile because it gave him an excuse to talk to her again.

And that’s why, Luke smiled wider than the first one.

He couldn’t wait to see her again.

It made him wonder, would she come back for her shoes. Or would she make him give them to her.

He knew the answer to that.

He was going to give them to her.

He was going to make it an excuse to see where on his hotel, was she staying.
