There was silence around the table while they ate.
It was the rules at the Reynolds manor.
But Vera did it, because she was used to eating by herself.
But the whole time, Luke was loving having a dinner with both parents are present.
He was imagining them as a proper family.

Once Luke put Vera to bed, he admired her for a quick moment and then sat back on the single chair he seemed to claimed earlier.He was going to sleep there.He didn’t want to leave his children.Not because he didn’t trust Vera.It was true that he barely knew her.But he did completely trust her.He just didn’t want to seem like a bad father in front of her.He didn’t care if it was anyone else. Luke was watching the scene between Vera and Aiden.It drove him insane with jealousy.Luke knew Aiden’s reputation.It wasn’t as bad as his, being classed as the arrogant asshole who no one dares to cross.Aiden was a player though. For a moment, they both sipped their coffee. Vera thought it was a nice strong one. Something she needed, she thought. After Vera sipped her coffee, she looked up to Luke. She was waiting to see what he wanted to say. ‘There was something that I wanted to ask you. It’s more a favor.’ Luke began. He wasn’t sure how Vera was going to react. And therefore, it made him a little nervous to ask. ‘A favor?’ He heard Vera. The look in her eyes were unsure. ‘I don’t know you well enough for favors.’ He knew it wasn’t going to be easy.
