For a moment, they both sipped their coffee. Vera thought it was a nice strong one. Something she needed, she thought. After Vera sipped her coffee, she looked up to Luke. She was waiting to see what he wanted to say. ‘There was something that I wanted to ask you. It’s more a favor.’ Luke began. He wasn’t sure how Vera was going to react. And therefore, it made him a little nervous to ask. ‘A favor?’ He heard Vera. The look in her eyes were unsure. ‘I don’t know you well enough for favors.’ He knew it wasn’t going to be easy. But he wasn’t done trying. ‘Vera, you know that I am not out to hurt you.’ Luke began, keeping his voice gentle. The rest of the day, Verastayed by her desk.She had thought that, it had been a good day. Not too stressful. Just what she wanted.And when she came back to her desk after having a lunch break, she found a set of keys waiting on her desk.She was glad to have a car. Josh drove through the coffee shop and ordered the desired orders of his boss and Miss Rayne. He also ordered himself one too.And then he drove to the bookstore.This made Josh smile at the thought of his boss and Miss Rayne in the bookstore, hanging around each other.He thought it would be a cute date.However, when Josh had parked the car, he was surprised to see that his friend wasn’t going to accompany Miss Rayne.He watched as she hopped out of the car and walked towards the bookstores building.And then he turned to his friend.‘I’m surprised that you didn’t go after her, Luke.’ Josh had said with a slight grin.‘Why?’ Luke said back.He was trying to play dumb with his friend.And Josh knew it.‘I am not stupid, Luke. When Luke stepped into his office, he found Josh waiting on the lounge sipping his coffee.Though when Josh saw Luke step in, he stood up out of respect.‘Please sit down, my friend.’ Luke said.
