Dylan's Point Of View

I turned around, the snap of a twig underfoot pulling me from my thoughts. My heart pounded as I saw my father, Bryce, standing there with a stern expression. "Dylan?" he said, his voice a mixture of surprise and concern.

"Dad? What are you doing here?" I asked, trying to sound casual despite the shock of seeing him in this place.

"That's my question for you," he retorted, folding his arms across his chest. "What are you doing here, in this pack?"

I sighed, knowing this conversation wouldn't be easy. "I came to see a friend," I replied cautiously.

"A friend?" he raised an eyebrow. "In this pack? What kind of friend is that?"

"It's not what you think," I said quickly. "I came to see Aurelia."

Bryce's eyes narrowed. "Aurelia? Are you serious? Is Aurelia now a friend? You came all the way here to see her?"
