Mr Lover's Backstory

“Have we met before?” I asked the man, staring at him with my eyebrows raised. Though I was certain I'd never met him before, his voice sounded oddly familiar, like I'd heard it before.

“Nope, we haven't.” Sighing, he sat up, looking at us with a sacred expression on his face. “Is he coming for me?” He asked.

“Fred?”

He nodded. “I'm the only one remaining in our group that knows about his past life as the Scorpion. When I heard of the death of one of our friends, I knew my time was near. He wouldn't leave me, knowing how many of his secrets I know.”

“It's alright. He won't harm you,” I promised, smiling at the man who looked like his heart might leap out of his chest in fear.

“What if he does? I got a message from an unknown person yesterday. I bet he's the one, and he's coming to hurt me.”

“No, he won't,” Jeremy reassured, beating me to it. “As long as you tell us everything about him, we will protect you. He won't hurt you, okay?”
