She escaped

Everything that happened within that hour was blurry to me. I lost consciousness because of the loss of blood and was admitted to a hospital. I woke up a few hours later to find myself in an unfamiliar room. I learned from my stepbrothers that they had arrested Helen, and she was awaiting judgment in their cell.

They didn't kill her on the spot like they did to the man because there were rules guiding all the werewolves, laws they all keep despite their status. All her accomplices were caught and thrown into the cell with her, to await judgment.

I stayed in the hospital throughout the day and was discharged the next morning. I didn't get a concussion — lucky me. They said it was just a mild injury. Aside from the small hole at the back of my head, I was good to go.

My stepbrothers wanted to drive me home, but I refused. Had I not cleared my name, I doubt they would have let me stay in the same space with them. I asked a nurse to drive me back home because I wanted nothing to do wit
