Painful Regret

Pulling my curly hair out of the shirt Damon tossed me it dawned on me he was waiting for me in the hall making that exit route impossible. I turned and looked out the window, we were on the second floor. The window wasn’t nailed shut like in my room at home so it slide right open. The breeze was nice but by May the heat was nearly unbearable in the south. If I really wanted to leave it was clear I’d have to jump. Running to grab my shoes I realized all I had was stilettos, seeing as I would more than likely be chased those wouldn’t do. I went back to the dresser in search for socks. I grabbed two pairs to layer hoping it would be enough to protect my feet from the heat.

As I bent over to shove my feet in the socks I heard a woman’s voice coming from the door.

“Damon I just wanted to talk. Please don’t be mad, I love you…” the woman’s voice was cracking as she spoke. Who was she? Was she crying? Was this someone he had be with? Before I could dive too much into thought over it I hear
