ASHER'S POV

I woke up before Elysia the next morning and I lay beside her till she woke up.

She stretched herself and her eyes fluttered open to see me leaning over her and looking at her with a smile on my face.

She looked around the room in confusion at first, and it took a while before I realized that she was confused as to where she was. It was equally soothing to note that despite her confusion, Elysia was calm seeing my face there.

She blinked rapidly for a while and sat up before she finally recalled where we were.

"For how long have you been awake?" She asked me.

"I woke up not long ago," I told her even while knowing that I actually didn't get much sleep because I was worried that the Alphas were going to try something while we were asleep.

"The meeting is scheduled to be held later today," I told her. "After that, we would go back home where it's peaceful, okay," I assured her.

She snuggled closer to me and I put my arms around her protectively and rubbed her back. I heard h
