Letting Go

MIA'S POV

This is not good. Vera is coming! What am I going to do? She's going to find out about Davon and lock him up again. I need to find a way.

I rode on my bike and speeded to Theo's house. He and Davon were playing basketball in the backyard when I came. Theo was teaching Davon the different kinds of sports played by a human.

"Davon, we have a problem. Cheska dropped by my house. Her Aunt Vera is coming tomorrow. She's inviting her best friends to introduce us to her aunt for lunch! What are we going to do?!"

"We are so screwed. Davon, pack your bags. It would be best if you leave this town now," Theo wiped his sweat and dressed.

"What? Where would he go, Theo? Davon doesn't know any place but this town. He'll get lost!" I reasoned, but because it's true.

"I don't know! Do you want to give him back to that evil witch, Mia? He'll be a prisoner forever. We need to let him go," Theo rebuffed. It shocked me that this day was coming sooner than we all expected.
