Lizzy’s POV

“Lizzy, why are you silent? A simple classical song is fine. I’m sure they’ll understand if you might have forgotten a few notes,” Margaret asked. That’s when I realized Margaret was setting me up. She knew for sure that I couldn’t play the piano because I came from a poor family.

How wicked you are, Margaret.

I thought you had changed and had good intentions, but I was too stupid to take it that way. Now I had no way to dodge.

My face paled and my hands broke out in a cold sweat. Jason, help me. What should I do?

“Can’t you play the piano?” the woman asked, sitting right next to me.

“How could she not play the piano? If she is Margaret’s daughter-in-law, she must come from a wealthy family, because there is no way she would accept a poor woman to be her daughter-in-law. Am I right, Margaret?” the other woman asked.
