Shannon cried pitifully, and it pained Lucas to see her like that. He passed her some tissues. "Don't cry, I'll send you back."

"Luke, I shouldn't have come, right? Even Josie hates me now. Everyone's changed. Including you …"

She stared blankly at Lucas. Although Lucas still treated her very well, she could feel him trying to keep his distance.

He no longer hugged her like he used to, nor did he smile at her. Even when they met up, he had a very troubled look on his face. He might be there with her in person, but his mind was somewhere else. Had he fallen for Chelsey?

Lucas, too, knew that he had changed. For the past three years, he would always think of Shannon whenever he heard Chelsey's voice. But now, Chelsey's image in his mind got clearer and clearer, whereas Shannon's face was beginning to fade out.

"I'll send you back." Lucas did not reassure Shannon. His cold attitude toward her made it clear to Shannon that he cared less and less for her.
