CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

I turned to face him, a look of surprise and pleasure on my face. "Really?" I smirked, my voice soft.

Horace nodded, his gaze locked on me. "Really. It's not just about the mark itself, though that is gorgeous as well. It's what it stands for. Our love, our bond, and our loyalty to one another, any time I see it, it will remind me of how privileged I am to have you as a mate and how people will respect you."

I didn't know why tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as I looked at his reflection in the mirror, I wasn't sad rather my heart was overflowing with love and gratitude. "I feel the same way," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"I am really lucky to have you as mine, and I hope it lasts for as long as we live."

Horace turned me around to face me as he leaned in to kiss me, his lips warm and tender against mine. As we kissed, I felt at peace.
