Last night was the best night I had ever had, and as I laid here, watching her sleep, I made myself a promise. I wasn't going to die when we decided to attack today.

I would make sure to come back in one piece, and be with my baby and its mother. Then be the best frigging dad I could ever be.

She snored lightly in her sleep as I pulled her close, placing kisses all over her face. I loved her to death, and when everything was over, we would have the best wedding ever.

We would have the best life together.

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts, and I covered her body properly with the blanket as I wore my shorts to open the door.

Standing in front of the door was Connor. And he was pissed.

I had a good idea what he was here for, and I would be pissed as well if the roles were reversed.
