CHAPTER 23

I have tried, and failed, not to think about the night we kissed. I could still feel his lips on mine, the tingling sensation when his hands caressed my body.

I shivered a bit watching his back move as he turned the corner. I shook my head, this was not the time to be imagining things like this.

He turned back to me, as if hearing my inner thoughts, shot me a pointed look and shook his head teasing me.

I felt blood rush to my face. Oh my Goddess he knew, he had to. Why else would he look at me like that?

“Come inside” he said, gesturing towards the door of his office.

I stepped inside the room and was met with the same men that had come to the old safe house we were in. Mason and his men.

“You remember Mason?” He asked, leading me to a chair beside him.

I nodded my head and waved to him in greeting and he nodded back at me.

“Him and his men succeeded in extracting most of our pack members that were still held captives which included Riley” he said.

“Thank you. I'm eternally grateful”
