Seventy - two

Eira’s POV

What is it? Is the boy in danger? I felt worried and I quickly rushed to meet up with him while dragging my injured ankle.

“What happened to your leg?” He asked, when he saw me limping.

“It's fine, I will treat it later, ” I dismissed and asked him the question pending in my mind. “The boy? How is he?”

He shook his head.

“What happened?” I was alarmed.

“He didn't make it,” he muttered and I looked at him shocked.

“What?” I retorted and started dragging my injured leg to the abandoned store.

I only took a few steps when I felt a hand wrapped around me.

In a split of seconds we were in front of the abandoned store.

I looked beside me and saw that the hand belonged to the Vampire King but I couldn't process what happened. I quickly went inside to see the woman wailing and mourning.

“My boy, my boy. Ahhh, ” she cried and held the boy in her arms, wailing sorrowfully.

“Let me check him, please.” I moved closer to the woman and gently untangled her from the boy.
