Death beckons

Kira's POV

Xander's eyes searched mine the moment I got in. The way he cowered back at my hard glare, I am sure he thought it was because of the gravity of his offense. I hissed loudly, locking the door behind her.

“What are you doing here?” I whisper yelled, my eyes lingering on the window. The rate at which my heart paced, one would think I was running away from a burglary scene.

Xander raised a cautious brow, “I came to apologize for how I reacted the other day.”

“This is like the wrongest of time to come. Couldn't you have called ?”

“I didn't want you to refuse me, and when I called Amber she didn't say there was a reason for me not to be here.”

Placing a hand on my forehead, I demonstrated with my other hand, “that is because she is just being childish. Leila and Declan are downstairs, and I can bet it with you, they wouldn't leave here without suspicion lingering in their minds.”

He exhaled, sitting his butt back down on the edge of the bed, “since when did the both of them
