Gathering of the ogres

Kira's POV

Whatever it was that Leila did with the information I sent her, it did make her pleased. She had come around today to gift me a silver necklace that looked charming. I was truly surprised at the gesture. She shouldn't bother buying me gifts when she has plans to end my life. I wish I could tell that to her face.

My heart raced when she volunteered to wear it on my neck. I could sense Amber mind linking me to slap her hands from my neck. I almost laughed out loudly, she undeniably has a way of baring her mind. Leila wouldn't be crazy enough to cause me any harm right here in my own guarded space.

She grinned at me, sitting opposite me. We were sitted by the relaxing garden not far from the pack house gate.

“It looks so beautiful on you. I knew it would fit you better.”

I smiled tightly, “you have always had eyes for good things.”

My eyes went to my phone, I had expected that I would get at least a call or text from Xander. But I didn't, he obviously still isn't pleased
