Kai’s POV

I stood nervously in front of Alana's front door, my heart pounding in my chest like a fucking drumbeat. Ever since she threw us out, Max and I have been restless. The wound from the arrow I was shot with last night hasn’t healed completely, but it was the least of my problems.

After how passionate last night was between Alana and me, I wasn’t expecting her to wake up and throw me out the way she did. It was as if I went to bed with Alana by my side and woke up to another person wearing her face.

She was unrecognizable.

From how traumatized she was, it was obvious she regretted everything that happened between us. Not only did she feel disgusted by the thought of us together, but she was horrified to even look me in the eyes.

Though hurt and confused by her actions, I still couldn’t get myself to walk away from her, knowing something was wrong. I needed to find out what went wrong between us when everything was so perfect before the break of dawn. I was curious to know why t
