Chapter Ten

Ice’s POV.

“I’m so far away from home.” I mutter silently, wrapping the poncho tighter as I watch the wind blows the sand around us. Kelly and I are enjoying our dinner outside the palace grounds.

According to her, Desert Heart is located in the Middle East of the continent. If my calculations are correct, then I am roughly ten thousand miles away from the Crescent Valley. Desert Heart has extremely low humidity at night. If it was not for the slaves that are fanning us, then I would break a sweat.

But pushing aside the uncomfortable weather, the view is breathtaking. Dull golden sands map all around us with hints of cactus instead of trees. I have only visited the Middle East once. It was for a mission where I had to take care of a business named Amun, who also happened to be the previous leader of one of the biggest crime syndicates in the world. It was a quick job though.
